Which Batman was tallest? Google Hack Falls Down on the Job
Yesterday, in a great “link trippin’” post, Searchviews (via Lifehacker) highlighted the fact that you can type “[celebrity name] height” into Google and the top result will be that person’s height (or age, if you type “age” instead of “height”). Good fun. This morning, I decided to try it out, because I wondered which actor of the four who have played Batman on the post-1989 big screen was the tallest. Oddly, however, I couldn’t – because there seems to be a cluster of Batman-related actors for whom the hack doesn’t work
For instance, Michael Keaton and Christian Bale work as expected (5′10″ and 6′1″ – Adam West, for the record, was apparently 6′2″). But Val Kilmer and George Clooney don’t return height results. And neither do Michele Pfeiffer, Elle McPherson, Katie Holmes or Kim Basinger, four Batman heroines – although Nicole Kidman (5′10.5″) does. Obviously, I haven’t tested this thoroghly enough to verify whether there’s some odd Batman effect going on here. But it is noteworthy that quite a number of other random celebs from Clint Eastwood to Tom Cruise to Russell Crowe all return the hack results one wants…
