Procrastinate Now

I am a huge fan of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. One reason is that my Republican-registered husband not only watches them with me (his left leaning wife), he loves them. First I weaned him of the “The O’Reilly Factor” and now this. Makes me feel like there’s hope. Secondly, what’s not to love? They are both so damn funny and smart. So when I heard Jon Stewart tout his online Daily Show Trivia Game on ComedyCentral.com at the end of a show, I had to check it out. Warning: it is addicting. And hard!

Of course the introduction to the game pokes fun at itself: “Your nation needs you to slack off at work and play THE MOST IMPORTANT TRIVIA GAME EVER!â€? You can play the game with or without registering as a user, but I highly recommend registering. Without registering, it’s fun, but not as exciting as when you’re competing against others. You get to chat with your competitors who are from all over. I played a guy from Belgium, who beat me twice! You are challenged to a series of online mini-games of which you have to be the first to win three to become “the next daily show news correspondent. ” The games such as Correspondent Itinerary, Trivia Smackdown, Survivor Trivia, and Political Mahjong test your geographical, current event, historical and pop culture knowledge. Some of the questions and mini-games repeat themselves, but no game is entirely the same. I have to admit, my geographical knowledge is embarrassing and I’m way too slow at Mahjong. I guess I better practice more. I’ll do work later. Oh, and if you sign up, my user name is Roxxyjo. Be sure to say “hiâ€? and don’t laugh at the fact that I don’t know where Yemen is.

Anybody know how to find the nation of Georgia on the Most Important Trivia Game Ever map? I can never get to it, seems to fall in a gap between Europe and Asia on their map, but I’m gold there’s a way to get to it…
