Today’s Helpful Time-Waster

The scarcity of available domain names has been vexing entrepreneurs / dreamers (like me) for quite some time now. Just the other day, I was trying to dream up a name for my latest killer startup idea, but the lack of a corresponding domain name kiboshed all my contenders. I wondered: why can’t I start with the domain name – do a broad search against only available names? Turns out you can, and the activity is a fun and potentially quite useful stroll through the slightly seamy side of domain parking, auctions, etc.

I’m sure there are many other sources, but here’s one I found with a good search tool. You can search for domains that include particular keywords, with a maximum number of characters, numbers / no-numbers. You get the idea. For example, searching available domains containing “2me” returned these catchy suggestions: greenit2me.com, mission2mexico.com, street2meet.com, and my personal favorite: whine2me.com. Any one of these would make a great name for my new spanish-language, eco-friendly, outdoor, psychotherapy website.
