User Interface Design, Visual Design, HTML Templating
The existing MOL system had evolved over time, and as a result the application presented over 700 different screens, with many different strategies for presenting information and functionality.

We designed several templates that addressed the business needs: search, view and edit several different types of data. We also created a handful of reusable modules that dictated the presentation of functionality and data results.

We created a simplified browsing mechanism, with the ability to preview informational templates before accessing them.

We applied a visual design treatment to the finished wireframes. The design needed to be sharp, but low contrast for everyday StarNet users.

The final interface is customizable by the user and has a cleaner approach to presentation of information. We now show users only what they need to see, clearly identify data issues and required actions, and group related items to make user's lives easier. By following these guidelines MOL will insure that modifications to the application remain consistent in the future.
